Text Gen. 6:22, Rev 2:7,11,17,29;3:6,12,22,Heb.11:6-17
A. INTRODUCTION
The topic above literally conveys the idea that not every human has an ear. But in creation ,every being has this gift. This clearly shows that the ear under consideration is idiomatic and conveys an idea of total obedience even without reason to given set of instructions .
No wonder,the book of revelation is inundated with this phrase; thereby elucidating how important the matter is.
Noah will be used as a case study as one who had ear , and did what God asked him to do . Christians should understand that the first purpose of our life is to please God. With this in mind ,the task before us now is how to achieve this.
Noah achieve this through the following ways:
(I) He loved God supremely
(ii) He trusted God completely
(III ) He praised and thanked God continually
(iv) He obeyed God wholeheartedly
(v) He made use of his abilities

B. THE MESSAGE
1. Love God supremely :
loving God supremely should be your priorities in life. Christians manifest this attribute of having an ear when we love God above every other things else. Noah did this even when no one else did.
The book of Gen 6:9 tells us that Noah consistently followed God's will and enjoyed a close relationship with him . Jesus in his teaching called this the greatest commandment ( matt.22:37-38)
2. Trust God completely:
Trust ,faith and obedience ,Noah trusted God even when it did not make sense (heb 11: 17). Consider yourself in the shoe of Noah now when God approaches you to make all the promise he made to Noah. There could have been three problems that could have raised doubt in Noah
(1) He has never seen rain ( Gen 2:5-6)
(2) Howcould he get the ship to water
(3) How could he round up the animals
However, he didn't complain .Ask yourself, in what area are you complaining to God. You may feel that the only time God is interested in you is when you're doing "spiritual" activities like attending church services , Reading the Bible, praying or sharing of faith. And God is not concerned about the other part of your life , actually God enjoyed watching every details of our lives.
By faith , Noah built an ark in the middle of dry land .
3. Obey God wholeheartedly :
Saving the the animal population from a worldwide flood required great attention to logistics and details .God was specific in his instructions ( Gen 6 :22). He obeyed without reservation or hesitation. No procrastination,no questions or suggestions you do it without delay. Delayed obedience ,people says is disobedience. God owes us no explanation and understanding can wait but not obedience.
4. Praise and Thank God continually :
Noah lived with a heart of praise and Thanksgiving. He showed this on his act after surviving the flood. (Gen.8:20) God loves it when we thank him . Worship works both ways of enjoying what God has done for us and when we express that enjoyment to God, it brings him joy.
5. Make use of your abilities:
God enjoyed watching every detail of our life, whether working, playing , resting or eating.( PSalm 37:23) says that the steps of the Godly are directed by the Lord . He delighted in every detail of our lives. Here, it's clear that it erroneously to consider what some brethren term as " social life " as one that should not be guilded by the principles of working to God. Every human activity except SIN can be done to honor God whom will do it in attitude of praise.
CONCUSSION
As it was in the days of Noah so shall it be in the day of the son of man ( Matt 24:37-38, Luke 17:26-27 )
Let make use of our ears for its purposes
